A Church for the Third Millennium.

A Picture of the Church
"The act of faith which the parish of Mill Hill has made in the building of this new church is a testimony to the truth that a church is not only bricks and mortar, but also the people who believe and worship. Your faith makes this church a place of prayer and a house fit for God."
Cardinal George Basil Hume, OSB, September 1996

Welcome

To the Catholic Parish of the Sacred Heart and Mary Immaculate. It is served by priests from the Congregation of the Mission (Vincentians), who originally came to Mill Hill in 1889.

Teach me Your Paths - Responding to God brings peace, walking away or excluding God brings disaster.

Tuesday marks the end of the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity.

It is largely due to the humble, tireless work of a French priest, Fr. Paul Couturier, that this world-wide week of prayer came about. He was much loved by Christian people all round the world, and revered by leaders in other faiths, who saw in his profound Christian spirituality a love of God and a love of humanity with which they too could identify. He became known as the apostle of Christian Unity. At the Second Vatican Council, his hopes for Christian Unity, through closer conversion of all Christians to Christ in an ever growing holiness, and for spiritual ecumenism, were expressly embraced as the hope and work of the entire Catholic Church in Unitatis Redintegratio, the Decree on Ecumenism. More information about him is available at http://www.paulcouturier.org.uk/
