A parishioner recently discovered some parish bulletins dating back to 1972. Here are some items from them:

September 1972

CHURCH OF THE SACRED HEART AND MARY IMMACULATE, MILL HILL
SUNDAY MASSES:	
   8.00a.m., 9.00a.m., 10.00a.m., 11.00a.m. and 6.30p.m.
   St. Vincent's: 8.15a.m. and 9.15a.m.
   Inglis Barracks: 10.00a.m.

MISSION NEWS Father T.C C.M. returned to Nigeria on Thurs-
day last. His address is (...). Father P S leaves for Ghana
in the near future.
YOUTH CLUB Thanks to those people who turned up for a
meeting on the Youth Club. The response was poor for a
parish of this size. As a result of the meeting we are
investigating the possibility of getting a Youth Leader
for the group. The future of the club depends on our
success or failure in this quest. Anyone interested is
asked to contact Father Cowan.
FILM CLUB Help is urgently required. Would someone please 
contact (...) so that 100+ children can still enjoy this
worthwhile parish activity. NO HELP - NO FILMS!
PARISH CHEESE AND WINE Friday 6th October. Tickets avail-
able from the Presbytery.
VINCENTIAN TABLE TENNIS CLUB - calling on all parishioners,
especially those who have recently arrived in the parish.
Do you know that this club re-opens for the 1972/1973 
season on TUESDAY NEXT 19th September. 7.30p.m. in the
Social Centre. New members will be most welcome, just come
along, any Tuesday or better still contact K.S, Secretary
on 959.....
CATHOLIC WOMEN'S LEAGUE Meeting on Thursday next 21st
September at 8.00p.m. There will be a demonstration and
talk on "Beauty and Skin Care" by a representative of 
Boots. As this is the first meeting after the holidays we
are looking forward to having all our members at the
meeting. New members, or anyone interested, will be very
welcome. Just come along to the meeting on Thursday.
CATECHISM CLASSES will be resumed in the Social Centre and
at St. Vincent's in the very near future. Details in next
week's Bulletin.
TODDLERS' CLUB. All mothers with children up to school age
are welcome in the Social Centre each Monday from 10.00a.m.
until 12 Noon. The children can play while mothers meet 
each other over a cup of coffee.
HYMN SINGING WILL BE RESUMED at the 10.00a.m. Mass on 
Sundays from 1st October. Children and teenagers who are
interested in helping to start off hymns, will be very
welcome up in the choir loft at 9.55a.m. on Sunday mornings
and at 6.00p.m. on Friday evenings for the practice, which
lasts for half an hour.
HOLY WATER - Please ensure that the tap on the Holy Water
Font is turned off after you have used it.
DINNER DANCE Parish Dinner Dance is planned for Hallowe'en 
Night on 31st October. The evening will include a three
course dinner prepared and served by professional caterers.
The "Cherrystones" will provide the Cabaret and Dancing
will be until 11.30p.m. Tickets £2.25 each. Application
forms are available at the Church porch. Unless a 
sufficient number of applications have been received at
Presbytery by Tuesday evening this function will have to be
cancelled.
GALA CHRISTMAS BINGO. Advance Notice. Wednesday 20th
December 1972. All seats are numbered and bookable. Please
enquire of the Bingo Committee for further details. Prices
are higher for this night but so are the prizes. There will
be three good prizes on every ticket.
GIRL GUIDES, BROWNIES, CUBS and ALTAR SERVERS! All are
active again after their summer break - meetings as usual.
CHILDREN'S DAY 30th September. Volunteers are required to
sell flags. 16 years and over. Proceeds to the Crusade of 
Rescue. See notice in Church Porch, or ring 959.....
TICKETS FOR THE GRAND DRAW which is to take place during
the Bazaar in November are available after all Masses 
today at the Church Door.
ST. VINCENT de PAUL SOCIETY will make their monthly
collection today.
    PLEASE PRAY FOR ALL OUR PARISHIONERS WHO ARE SICK,
               ESPECIALLY THOSE IN HOSPITAL
