Do you want to know more about the Catholic faith?

When Jesus saw the two disciples following him, he turned to them and said, "What are you looking for?" They said to him, "Rabbi, where are you staying?" and he said to them "Come and see" and they stayed with him that day.

John 1:38-39

Come and See

In this parish we have meetings every Monday night from 8.00 to 9.00 pm to help people who are thinking about becoming Catholics; for new Catholics and for Catholics who have lapsed from the Church and want to come back. One thing that they have in common is that they all want to know more about the Catholic faith.

Some people who come along to these meetings have been coming to Mass for years and never felt they could ask to know more. Others have met the Church through a Catholic husband or wife; some have met the parish through the baptism, communion or confirmation preparation of their children, others through sickness or death. Some have met Catholics at work or next door. Some are in some way dissatisfied with their lives or feel there is a gap they want to fill and they want something more.

If you are one of these people, you are warmly invited to join us.

bullet

Those who want to become Catholic are called the R.C.I.A. Group (the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults).

bullet

New Catholics are called the Mystagogia Group.

bullet

Those who have left the Church for some reason and want to come back are called the Re-membering and Re-newing Group.

We all meet together to share in our spiritual journey.

Whichever group applies to you, come and see what we are like, what we believe in. Jesus claimed himself to be the Way, the Truth and the Life (John 14:6). He offers us a new vision of reality; and we believe, as Christians, that this vision, his unique way of looking at reality is the truth that sets us free.

Just come along one Monday evening. We meet in the presbytery (No. 2 Flower Lane) at 8:00 p.m.!

Fr. Aidan, C.M.
