Topping Out

On December 9th 1994 a tree appeared, fixed to the top of the tower. Some people thought that this was a slightly premature start to the Christmas celebrations, but in fact it was put there to indicate that the building had reached its maximum height, and that the 'topping out' ceremony was imminent!
