The Statue

The statue of the Risen Christ had been moved from the old church into the hall of the Social Centre whilst the demolition and reconstruction of the church was taking place. Now, finally, the time had come when the statue could be moved to the place of honour reserved for it behind the high altar of the new church. Although not done in a liturgical context, the operation assumed a solemnity of its own!
