The Parish Pastoral Council

The Pastoral Council is a group of parishioners and parish staff who meet
together periodically to foster the further development of the Parish
Community and bring the various groups together.
One of its first tasks in 2002 was to formulate the Parish
Vision Statement, and to draw up a
constitution.
Next the people of the parish were consulted on a variety of issues via a
Parish Questionnaire. A summary of the results
was prepared and distributed to the parish. These results form the basis of
the programme for future action.
The PPC meets every two months to discuss parish matters
with Fr Kevin. Although primarily a strategic group it does become involved
in practical issues. Some functions are carried out by the group as a whole
but, where more detailed examination is necessary, small working groups are
set up. During the last year there were five such groups, i.e.,
Buildings,
Parish Directory, Proclaim the
Good News,
Social and
Youth. These groups co-opt other parishioners, with appropriate skills,
to help them and the PPC is very indebted for their assistance.
