PPC Youth Group

The group oversees the running of the Youth Section on behalf of the PPC and the Parish Priest.

This group was charged with drawing up a job and a person specification for a part-time, paid youth worker. This was a new undertaking for the parish and necessitated a great deal of discussion with the Diocese. We advertised, and after holding interviews, were fortunate to appoint Nicola Santamaria who took up her post in January 2009.

Since then she has regularly run the 7-13 year old club and started an older Impact Group who meet on Wednesdays. The second group have been involved with the Christmas hampers and the Paschal parcels at Easter as well as the charity, the De Paul Trust.

The equipment for the club has been upgraded. During the summer Nicola ran an art club on Wednesday afternoons. She distributed a News Letter in September on all the work of the Youth Club. Please read it as the work with young people is most important.
