This prayer, which is traditionally recited on rising, at noon, and at
6pm, recalls the great mystery of the Incarnation in which God became a
human being, 'like us in all things but sin'. It celebrates Mary's great
'yes' to God: "Be it done unto me according to your Word".
V. The Angel of the Lord declared unto Mary.
R. And she conceived by the Holy Spirit.

the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, mother of God,
